09/Oct Singapore to build New Cruise Terminal
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) held a Groundbreaking Ceremony to launch its massive S$500 million International Cruise Terminal (ICT) project aimed at developing Singapore as a cruise hub.

To be completed by the end of 2011, the ICT will double Singapore’s berth capacity and enable more cruise ships to call on Singapore and Asia. The ICT will be located at Marina South and will complement the existing Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC) located near Sentosa.

The Asia Pacific currently comprises 7% of the world's cruise market today but is growing faster than other segments of the industry. STB is targetting to attract 1.6 million cruise passengers to Singapore by 2015 (from the current approximate 1 million per year).
